Course Description:

The course objectives include, but are not limited to, the changes in the Penal Code, Transportation Code, Family Code as well as some federal case laws which impact Texas law enforcement. This course is mandatory for all peace officers and must be completed by August 31, 2019.

Course Description:

The law enforcement officer will be made aware of the causes and effects of stress in the lives of peace officers. The class will also be discussing internal agency issues, stress in the work place, stress confronting the individual officer, fight or flight reactions, some inappropriate approaches to coping with stress, and alcohol and drug abuse as a coping mechanism. Officers will also learn how to use self-hypnosis to manage these and other stress issues.
