Jerry Garcia is a native Houstonian who was born and raised in Houston’s Near Northside. After attending and graduating from HISD’s S.P. Waltrip High School, Jerry worked during the day while taking night classes both at the University of Houston-Downtown and the Houston Community College. Creating positive change and making a profound impact became a powerful interest at the completion of several courses; the need to give back to the community became a true endeavor for Jerry. Thus, Jerry registered in the University of Houston-Downtown’s Basic Peace Officer Certification Course.
Once Jerry completed coursework and graduated from the Basic Peace Officer Certification Course, he began his law enforcement career at Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct 5.
